I don't know how to choose a pediatrician for our baby- we have lots of options on our insurance plan. Does any one have any suggestions or warnings about docs around here?
I have an amazing one right on Redwood road and 10600 south. They have toys and books in the each painted room. Each room is painted a different fun scene so kids enjoy it. Same day appts, and late nights and weekends. There are dr, and np's. I think they are great! so I take the 10 min drive out there
There are lots of great doctors that work out at Jordan Valley, but that might be a bit of the drive. Usually the best thing to do is ask the nurses when you are in the hospital. They usually know the best who are the pediatricians in the area.
Renee, sorry, long time no talk, but I have a recommendation for a pediatrician (which happens to be where I take my kids). I worked for them for several years, and was very happy with them. The clinic is called Families First Pediatrics. Several MD's and two NP's, and they are all great. They have a separate well check area from the sick area, all rooms are painted wonderfully, and they also have same-day sick appts, after-hours during weekdays, and do have clinic on Saturday up to 2:00 pm depending on demand. I'm not exactly sure where you are living right now, but I know you had been up near South Jordan while we were in school. Their clinic is right on the corner of 13th West and 106th South. They have rights at several hospitals around there (I'm not sure where you are delivering). I know they can go to Jordan Valley, Primary's, Alta, and nearly 100% sure IMC (they had rights to Cottonwood when it still stood, so I'm sure they just moved rights when IMC opened, just haven't ever asked). I can recommend a specific provider in the practice according to your preferences if you would like. Just email me, and I can get you more details. There is one pediatric office I would probably not recommend, but I'll give you that info through email if you want it :)

I have heard that the nurses always know the best doctors, so if you know a nurse out there you might want to ask them.
