a little update

Isn't she just beautiful! We think so. (those cheeks are just screaming "kiss me!")

She had her first friend over! Melanie is 4 months older and boy what a difference that 4 months makes! Check out the difference in tummy time: (melanie is saying "come on beth- hold up your head and play with me!)

And then Melanie shows off her amazing rolling skills by almost steam rolling Beth! (don't worry Beth wasn't hurt- mom was supervising closely!)

She is smiling much more- especially for dad!
(What's up with that anyway? -I'm the one that wakes up for her at night and spends way more time with her and yet she gives daddy more smiles than me! I guess she is already a little daddy's girl!)

She had a fun time with her cousins from California that visited- it's so stinking cute how toddler girls are just fascinated with little babies! Lydia couldn't get enough of her and when we had to take her she started to cry and was given a toy doll but she pushed it away and said: "NO- not beff" (beth)

So if you look closely at her eyes - the left has the light at 6:00 and the right at 7:00 which means she is seeing a little bit double vision. Poor thing. I guess it's a common problem and usually resolves it's self but we are keeping track of it to make sure it does resolve.

This was a fun concert at the Granite Tabernacle downtown (coolest church ever!) We were way far away but Ben's dad is singing a solo here- way to go Edwin! Beth slept soundly except for the applause where she would wake up with a start!

What a weekend...

Sorry for the reverse chronological order! We blessed Beth on Sunday and everything went great! I was so stressed out about it but thankfully my mom and dad helped with the party after, Ben did a great job with the blessing and Amy provided the beautiful dress! Whew- what would I do without family! Thanks to all the family that came to it too- It was such a neat day for us! Beth knew something was different- she was so happy and smiley all morning! I had to post all three of these because she looked at the camera but she also looked up at dad and up at mom and I think it's sooo cute that she likes us so much! :) (being a mom is the best!)

My Grandma passed away and the funeral was Saturday. It was her time to go and I'm glad that she is with grandpa and out of her misery but it is sad that such a good life is gone from this earth. I appreciated that in her funeral there was so much focus on all the service she rendered in her life so I could remember her like that. She was constantly serving others. The timing was interesting since I have been trying to adjust to being a mom which is so much selfless service. I am inspired by my grandma to always serve those around me- especially my family. It was so neat to see all the family again. What a beautiful thing family is!

On Thursday Beth had to get her shots- she was so cute and happy before the nurse came in I had to take some pictures! It's sad when we have to do things that make our kids sad. She had to drink the rotovirus vaccine and it made her throw up so bad it was coming out of her nose and mouth. ahhh. my heart broke in two. She was not happy about the whole ordeal.

A tired baby and a tired daddy after all is said and done. Ben is getting lots more gray hairs by the way... we are getting older... crazy!
