Merry Christmas and Happy Anniversary

Here we are at Alta celebrating our one-year anniversary.
We went skiing while it was snowing and wind blowing
and Ben didn't even fall down once!

After we came home and got all foo-fooed up we
went to Rodizio's Grill for dinner and had some
excellent Brazilian grilled meats and salads.

Ben gave Renee some flowers afterwards
with a card.

We had a great nativity scene on Christmas Eve at the Harston
home. Here are the members of the cast.

We enjoyed going to Temple Square and the
Joseph Smith Memorial Building to get in the
Christmas spirit.

Here's a picture of Ben's gift to his
nephews: a drawing of a medieval
castle.

Renee made some stockings and a tree
skirt for her sister's family for Christmas.

We also enjoyed making a few snowmen
with the Harston grandchildren.

Later on Christmas day at the Beuses...

We gave our gifts to the Beesleys, Ben's sister's
family.

We visited one of the newest arrivals in the
family, Charlotte Evans, Ben's niece.

We also got to play with Samuel Beus, one
of the younger grandkids.

We tried to figure out where
to put his new diaper after changing
him, but didn't have much luck.

Thanksgiving at the Beuses

The girls put a puzzle together which took less time than the Risk game.

Laura is here with her one day old baby Charlotte.

The kids put on a Thanksgiving play for us

Eli got into the Chocolate pie....

The food was delicious!

Baby Sam cooked the stuffing for us!

Ben thought of a novel way to open up cans and thankfully didn't hurt himself!

Beus reunion and Graduation

The Beus reunion was loads of fun! Thanks to Sam and Julie- we were up at Alturus lake in Idaho- on our way we stopped to see one of the twin falls of twin falls idaho- here it is- it was gorgeous!

We had each family do a skit or talent- Ben and I sang a duet.

We had a marshmallow gun war with guns made out of PVC pipes and we would blow marshmallows at each other! Then a great day at the Lake with Katie and Fred's kayaks and canoe. We had yoga lessons by Laura and Annalyn and boy are those little neices and nephews of mine are flexable! It was great food, games and family.

I pseudo-graduated! I realized that any body can buy a cap and gown and walk across a stage because I don't have my degree yet and I sure did that! I will get my degree in December but my class and I opted to walk early instead of late or not at all so it was fun! We are done with all the tests and papers of normal college- all I have left is my capstone hours at Shriner's Hospital and then to take the NCLEX...

I am so lucky to have family support me. Shawn and Erin were still in town so they came to graduation along with Anne, Laura, Katie, Annalyn, my parents and wonderful husband!

The Harston Reunion was super fun- we went to cherry hill- this is Ben and I on the slide... it was all fun and games until Mom Harston got a concussion-yikes!

This is baby Sophi- my brother's one year old- she is absolutely a doll!
Summer days means watermelon- Seth and Spencer Harston were enjoying it with me!

Our Fun Lives

We have been married for over 6 months now and we have done some really fun things! Check it out:

The best day of our lives for sure! We are so happy to be married!

We went to San Diego on our honeymoon and had a blast, this is Hotel Del Coronado- no we didn't stay there but we could afford breakfast there- barely!

The S.D. Temple was unfortunalty closed when we were there for cleaning but we went and walked around.

I had to go to D.C. to present research that I am part of so it was a fun trip that BYU paid for but no husband... things just aren't as fun when you aren't together.

We had a fun job that we could do together where we built a bathroom in an existing house that had a large master bedroom with no bathroom. This is after one day- we didn't get any pictures of the end result but we sheetrocked, mudded and sanded. It was so fun!

I had to go to New Hampshire for a nursing conference. BYU paid for most of it but is wasn't fun at all to be away from Ben. The conference was great but the week away and no cell phone reception made it pretty bad. The hotel we stayed at was huge! And haunted... pretty cool!

Liberty Park has a super fun free water area. Ben and I went with Amy, Katie and Liz and lots more moms from their wards so it was a party. We love to spend time with our cute nieces and nephews especially if it involves water.

We would sit in the streams and stop all the water and then on ten stand up and watch all the water rush by us! It's amazing what can amuse us for so many hours!

We pay rent by helping my parents. They are redoing their cabin in Oakley and doing a big add-on. This is a picture of Ben in the excavation pit. We will be putting in many more hours as the cabin progresses!

We went to Zion National Park with two other couples and Ben climbed about every rock he saw. He's turned into a monkey with his rock climbing class this semester!

This is a swimming pool that we could probably directly link our future cancer too since we spent way too much time there- it was so fun! We would jump off the rock in the background into the freezing cold water which felt great in 106 degree weather. :P

Zions is so gorgeous- we had a blast. If anybody want to go camping with people invite us for sure!
