We bought our dream home in the heart of Sandy. It really is everything we want... after some work!
We had to put in a staircase from the upstairs to downstairs since there wasn't a way to get to the basement unless you went outside through the outside entrance.
We went through about a dozen plans with different subcontractors (we were our own general contractor) until we knew how we wanted the basement to be finished.
My sister in law Sariah helped us finish the basement in so many ways and so many days! She is an angel- thank you so much!!
I learned how to tile! not too tricky except that I was dealing with morning sickness at the same time. (the blue stuff is primer to seal and level the cement floor before tiling it.)
We got lots of fruit trees in the fall when they went on clearance in the fall... I sure hope they make it through the winter and give us lots of yummy fruit in the years to come!
Ben got a new toy to help mow the 0.5 acre we now own
And we bought our first piano- a Shimmel baby grand which we love!
We learned how to put down tongue and groove wood flooring- thankfully not too tricky
We did lots of landscaping- there were so many rocks but we had a sprinkler system put in and then leveled it all out with the help of a rented bobcat and then we got tons (8 tons to be exact) of compost that little helpers help us spread out and Ben tilled it in with a big tiller (also rented) and then we were finally ready to lay sod. Thank you to multiple family members that helped us throughout the process.
Hallelujah we now have a yard and even a mostly decorated house!
